Estrogen Replacement W/O Testosterone, Lowers T which puts breasts more at risk
(This is one major reason that Oral Contraceptives UP risk of breast cancer while on them and for many years afterwards, but we are NOT warned about this)
Right out of a British Menopause Society article in 2022 for practicing hormone docs.
Always good to see what other’s are thinking and why.
This is not how I perceive it all, but it’s very interesting to see what other “influences” and “standard of care” are being discussed “out there” to get the best handle on the biggest picture.
My thoughts: Testosterone replacement is a must. Have adequate estrogen on board, too. Testosterone is NOT just about sexual boosting, but about muscles, cognition, mood, strength, stability of world-life view point, and heart health.
But the British Menopause Society begs to differ.
It’s good to know all sides.
Here is what the Brits say:

Is testosterone a female hormone? Yes - premenopausal women produce both testosterone and estrogen physiologically.
Androgens, including testosterone, are essential for development and maintenance of female sexual anatomy and physiology, and modulation of sexual behavior.
What happens to testosterone levels with age? The decline in testosterone levels appears to be age related at least partly due to loss of ovarian function, but can also occur more profoundly due to iatrogenic menopause which may be medical or surgical.
