Free All-Day Saturday: cool stuff, important stuff. Wisdom from folks who lived to be 100. Accurate discussion on why is Kennedy being vilified by wanting to caretake our kids, and more!
LIVING LONGER
Centenarians are folks that live to 100. Hopefully healthfully.
There are now more than half a million people living around the globe, who are 100 years or older.
Due to improvements in living conditions, nutrition, and health care, the incidence of centenarians has risen sharply. Since the 1960s.
At that time, only about 20,000 centenarians walked this earth.
Where do most centenarian live?
The United States.
And Japan.
Kane Tanaka, who died in 2022 at age 119, was Japanese.
The oldest documented supercentenarian (reaches at least the age of 110 years old), was Jeanne Calment. A French woman living to 122 years and 164 days.
She was known to have been a cranky, non-altruistic person.
Who often consumed several pounds of chocolates a day.
Yet she is known for this quote. (So much of life is “marketing”!)
Apparently being “not nice” might be an anti-aging tool.
But don’t shout that from the roof tops, ha.
Most centenarians suggest that letting stress and humanity not get to you, might be the secret sauce.
I often flunk at this.
Another comedic centenarian said:
Thoughts of mine often go to lectures and quotes from Ram Dass.
Rum Dum (as he often laughingly called himself) would say,
"You are loved just for being who you are,
“Just for existing.
“You don't have to do anything to earn it".
Perhaps tuning into this universal love is helpful in legging go of stress, self-doubt and accelerated aging.
But one has to still be aware of what’s going on!
How to do this without getting PRO-aged stressed?
Why is Kennedy so Hated? What’s up with his wanting to sleuth factual causations of autism?
Why, if Kennedy is trying to figure out why so many of our kids are autistic to help reduce the growing incidence, is he so vilified?
Most of American states now have autism rates at out of every 31 kids.
In comparison, France has the rate of 1 out of every 100 kids.
California has the highest incidence of autism.
Some sources say California has out of 22 kids with autism, some say one out of 12.5 boys in this sunny state have not so sunny autism.
California was the first state to mandate Covid vaccines to enter any school.
Though Massachusetts has the highest vaccine kid exposure rate.
In Massachusetts 1 out of every 29 kids is diagnosed with autism.
Higher than the national rate of one out of 31.
Most often, boys are most affected with autism. Versus girls.
Here is one of the best conversations about possible causes of autism. And what’s really going on.
Don’t trust the media? Or Kennedy.
Listen here.
I listened to this while working out at the gym. This AM.
The EPA had published that autism rates skyrocketed around 1989.
All Kennedy wants to do, is to look at possible “environmental exposures” that might have been introduced over that time period. From ultrasounds during pregnancy, to pesticides introduced around this time, to vaccines.
He wants to look every which way.
But the press is vilifying him. With an emphasis on vaccines.
Kennedy is trying to identify which environmental exposures might be most damaging vs. not. In regard to Autism.
This is a great discussion about why would the press be vilifying someone seeking to uncover what is harming our kids?
You also get to hear from these unsung heros’: father’s of autistic kids themselves.
Here’s this link again.
I listen while lifting weight to help keep the blood pressure steady. No lie.
Did you know that there have been over 13,000 deaths tracked on the government tracking system, Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), regarding the Covid vaccine.
Still these vaccines are now recommended to infants and pregnant women! Multiple times, multiple shots.
With no randomized trials testing these vaccines on these vulnerable groups.
But at least we have this lumbering tracking system. VAERS. A CDC tracking program.
Our own government tracking program.
So poorly run or able to report, that it’s well known to track roughly only 1% of true vaccine induced injuries.
But… what if we didn’t even have VAERS? This government run “Vaccine adverse event reporting system”?
Well that might be what we are looking at with pesticide-induced injury.
Take a look at what’s happening in the world of pesticides! (Though you may have to run, not walk, to your closest gym, to lower your stress!)
North Dakota Gov. Kelly Armstrong (R) has signed legislation that makes this state the first in the country to shield farm chemical manufacturers from ANY lawsuits over safety concerns about their products.
Like the weed killer Roundup.
Roundup already was proven to cause cancer in farmers using this herbicide.
They were successfully sued. But still the EPA would not put that Roundup possibly causes cancer on the label.
Since this law suit, the pesticide industry wants what the vaccine industry “enjoys”.
They want NO TRACKING SYSTEM AT ALL.
They want no one to be able to sue over injuries from pesticides.
And no injuries to be tracked.
See all the news lately linking pesticides to Parkinson’s.
More and more links are coming out, but the pesticide industry longs to be free from sticky law suits even with these emerging scary links.
If these laws pass, like in North Dakota, doctors would not be allowed to report injuries from pesticides (as if they are trained to scrutinize their patients over any of this anyway).
Btw, Bayer bought glyphosate (Roundup). From Monsanto.
Researchers at the University of Washington concluded in 2019 that glyphosate (Roundup) exposures increase the risk of some cancers by more than 40%.
That’s huge.
Following this study, ugh, ugh, the EPA approved Roundup’s use and deemed glyphosate “not likely to be carcinogenic to humans,” citing its own reviews.
Not addressing the University of WA findings. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh yet again.
Gotta go back to the gym and work out my anti-aging stressors over this stuff.
You can’t make this stuff up!
The Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that glyphosate is safe when label directions are followed.
But Roundup has been dogged by claims it causes cancer.
Bayer lost such a case, and had to pay $10 billion to settle lawsuits with thousands of cancer patients in 2016 over the widely used herbicide, Roundup.
Still the FDA does not say this should be on the label.
When the faulty Women’s Health Initiative said estrogen caused breast cancer, this was put on all estrogen product labels.
When the original authors said hey, that statement was wrong. In fact, estrogen protects healthy breasts against getting breast cancer.
But still those damning labels stay on estrogen products.
But not pesticide products.
This is enough to go kayaking into the sunset and forget about heading back home. It’s almost too much to “hold in the chambers” of my heart, that government would act so nefariously.
Hope you are not using Roundup on your lawn, garden or driveway.
It’s been highly linked to Hodgkin lymphoma and other cancers.
Buyer beware.
But what about new laws that would not let you take action against these companies if you did get cancer from Roundup exposure?
The corner stone of the US is that we are supposed to be able to use our courts to protect ourselves.
Well, these rights are going away.
What other states want to indemnify pesticide companies?
Iowa:
Iowa has considered legislation to limit pesticide liability, potentially offering a defense from civil liability for federally registered pesticide products.
Other States:
Other states like Florida, Idaho, and Missouri have also considered similar bills aimed at limiting pesticide liability.
These laws want to take our “day in court” - away from the every-day American.
Did you know this stuff was happening?
Yet… to live long is to NOT get stressed.
What a vice we are in!
All this information stresses me out.
Should stress out anybody with a brain.
But you can’t live with your head in the sand.
Thus I drag my butt to the gym. Drag my “guns” to the lake.
To keep moving.
That’s how I slow down the Mac Truck of Stressors.
While keeping aware of what the heck is really going on inside our ever dueling world.
All over money.
Knowledge is power.

I’ve personally explored many of the ideas of Peter Attia's "Outlive", focusing especially on strength training, lean muscle maintenance, and practical daily habits that support real longevity.
Coming from Italy, I also see how simple lifestyles and strong community ties have helped many local centenarians thrive without complex interventions.
I shared a deeper reflection based on my own experience here: https://occhipervedere.com/2025/04/28/peter-attia-outlive/.
Might be a useful addition to your list!
