Happy Fourth!!!!!
Hope you are with family or friends and feeling hope plus restoration.
Life is precious and short.
But there is lots of hope.
Take a listen to this stunning interview if you have time this holiday.
Life!
It’s short.
You gotta grab when you can.
My high school boy friend, who we have stayed friends all our lives, is in hospice.
Another one of my best buds in Santa Fe is stored away in a home.
So I keep on trucking on.
Thus, this past Saturday, in the early morning, drove downtown to kayak the almost 5 miles round Red Bud Isle.
With Lisa.
We’re “committed to the water”.
Better than being committed to an insane asylum.
Here’s Red Bud (though this pic is from another day).
Below is my attempt to show you my time on the water.
While actually paddling.
Which meant holding the phone to record… between my knees!
Not a great way to film.
But effective birth control!!
Right behind the “Shiva Lingam” - a huge tree trunk whittled away by water, time and winds, which I’ve named after my India yoga days, there is a hidden cove.
Some folks last week put rocks in a circle to make a fresh water, watering hole.
To chill from the effort of paddling or rowing.
After paddling and lunch at the hula hut, drove back north.
Back home.
Showered.
Got dressed up.
Headed back south down town.
Yet again.
See my dance shoes?
Hit several roof top patio bars. And dance halls.
For the first time since college, trudged into bed about 5:30 AM!
Holy moly.
it’s not aging that’s challenging.
It’s the drive to keep living and jiving and thriving.
Then flew to Michigan to share the 4th with Dr. Brownstein and his amazing family.
Got up at an ungodly 2 AM on to make it to Dr. Brownstein’s office by 10 AM. To shadow him all day and also get my own yearly testing (mind you this is several days after getting home at 5:30 AM yikes ha).
Got assessed with his fairly new multifunction cardiogram machine.
This supposedly reflects hard and soft plaque, your whole cardiovascular system and even if you have inflammation.
Their house in on this gorgeous Orchard Lake.
A view out of my bedroom window!
Got up early.
Speed walked around the lake with Allison, Dr. B’s amazing wife.
In the evening went to dinner with his family outside.
Gentle conversation.
When you can relax with friends and family, this is a huge gift of life.
My ole’ pastor from Unity church, turns out he is 15 minutes away, so he is coming over to enjoy the day with us, too!
Friends.
Family.
Connection.
Pushing yourself to live life out loud.
And hope that transparency is a coming.
Let’s enjoy these rare good days!
Blessings ya’ll.
Happy Fourth ya’ll!!!
Dr. B.
Just when the imposter in the White House has turned the country's climate to ICE, you ushered in the sunshine in your leopard dress and heels. That indomitable spirit may have a lot to do with BHRT -- but it has everything to do with a heart and soul made to lift us all up with love, wisdom, and knowledge. A heart and soul big and strong enough to hold all the many changing frames and shades of dark and light -- embracing it all while holding a steady course that we may also find our way. All blessings dearest soul.
Happy 4th Dr B!
