IgG1 is an immunoglobulin.

Immunoglobulins, commonly known as antibodies, are proteins produced by the immune system to recognize and neutralize foreign substances (antigens).

IgG1 turns on genes for “tight junctions”.

We have “tight junctions” all throughout our body.

To keep OUT what should be kept OUT, and to let IN what should be let IN.

We have tight junctions in our mouth, throughout the entire gut wall, lymph system, bloody highways, even in the blood brain barrier.

Tight junctions (TJs) form “seals” where things cross over. But some things should NOT cross over.

Thus, TJs need to be able to “open” and “close” optimally.

Hormones and nutrition play major roles here.
