Pearls From Shadowing the Iconic Gut Doc: Dr. Sam & How To Fill Up Our Love Bucket (everything starts in the gut, ha ha).
Life is a go with the flow.
I am staying in Santa Monica with Marcia who is the wife of one of the physicians I practiced with for years, Dr. Roger Hirsh.
Dr. Hirsh helped start the acupuncture board of California and also the often very effective acupuncture treatment for infertility.
Marcia and I have been DEAR friends for 44 years. Wow.
Plans changed… so “Go With The Flow”.
I was going to be hanging with another dear friend after my time with Marcia, that now had to go elsewhere.
So I called up the iconic functional gastroenterologist Dr. Sam Rahbar and asked if he and his wife could meet Marcia and I for dessert.
At dessert we plotted for me to go to his LA Gastroenterology and Nutrition Center on the edge of Beverly Hills. And shadow him for a delicious and enlightening day.
It was glorious.
We practice so similarly. Two peas in a pod.
We are plotting, ideas are simmering, to put on joint courses for many of you, so stayed tuned.
But here are some body, mind, spirit pearl take-aways from the amazing day I got to spend with the amazing Dr. Sam.
BTW, we had lectured together at A4M in the gut module 7 years ago and liked what each other said so very much, that we intended and successfully stayed in touch.
Thank God.
Reach out and stay in touch.
It pays off.
When plans change there is usually something better coming down the pike. And more amazing folks to hang out with.
A few clinical pearls, from the many from yesterday, that I thought you might enjoy and pass forward for your families or patients:
