Progesterone Resistance: Progesterone - A Mighty Hormone Under Mighty Attack
Progesterone is a calming hormone. A balancing hormone. A hormone that protects brain, nerves and emotions.
A hormone that “nourishes and buttresses pregnancy”.
Thus… progesterone’s name… PRO (to support)… gest (gestation or birth).
You can even say that progesterone is foundational for “evolution”.
Today, with our planet, air, food and water being rife with potentially endocrine disrupting pollutants, many of them “fight” against progesterone delivering it’s calming and fertility supportive signals.
Poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is highly associated with infertility.
Why? PCOS women suffer with progesterone resistance inside their uterus. Their progesterone signals cannot reach and signal to progesterone receptors inside their wombs. Pregnancy is not supported.
Same with endometriosis. The newest theory is that is largely “driven” by progesterone resistance. (I am giving a webinar talk on this today for the amazing BHRT academy and their medical providers).
