I live in Austin.

Tenth largest city in the USA.

Yet, when you walk around town, you notice that many folks are actually… “smiling”.

At a Biohacking brunch the other day, a young observant Canadian visiting Texas was commenting that most people walking around downtown… were wearing a Cheshire grin.

A fact you quickly observe while people watching in Austin, is that most Austinites, are “tattooed”.

I was in the gym the other day. My second home. My second sacred space.

Left the locker room. Put in my ear buds to listen to a podcast.

Looked around.

Saw a young man.

Who for some reason seemed out of place. Way out of place.

“Why” I pondered? “Why does this male seem out of place?”

I searched and searched.

Scanned the gym.

Finally. I realized.

He was the only guy in the gym with NO tattoos.

Tattoos are so ubiquitous in Austin, that seeing someone totally bare-skinned… looks “odd”.
