To Add Estriol with Estradiol, or not?
I was a guest on the Karen Martel podcast. She is amazing.
She asked if I recommend the use of “Bi-est” which is adding both estradiol to estriol to estrogen therapies.
I replied yes.
She said she follows the work of an OBGYN that recommends against it.
Thus, the “Great Estrogen Debate” was born.
Dr. Rosensweet and myself “debated” Drs. Felice Gerch and Dr. Taguchi.

Dr. Gersh said she was following mother nature. That younger ladies have less estriol.
Dr. Rosensweet has tested, in a clinical trial, the amounts of estriol and estradiol in younger women, using urine assays. Estriol mainly shows up in the urine except under specific circumstances.
Dr. Rosensweet found younger women had more estriol, not less, than estradiol.
We were hoping for more of a bit more of a “back and forth” conversation.
But this was still enlightening.

Great presentation, so interesting to hear the differing positions. Wondering if someone is on 80/20 Biest, and “feeling great”, how they can verify they’re getting optimal protective levels of BHRT? Wasn’t clear on how to do that lab testing.
